Presently SuhrudMandal runs four schools for children with Hearing Impairment in Pune and its
vicinity. One of the schools is a residential school. Two schools provide education at Pre-Primary and
Primary Level. Two schools are providing education at secondary level.

Established in 1985 .
Children with Hearing Impairment fromrural area required a residential school very badly. The school
first started in a small place at Khanapur . With the help of well wishers & kind hearted donors Suhrud
could build a school building & an attached hostel building at Dhayari. There are 40 students staying
in the hostel . Cleanliness , discipline is observed in the hostel . Healthy breakfast , milk & two
meals are provided to the children .The school is equipped with solar energy for bath water and out doorlights .
An unique feature of this school is , it has a poly-house where the children help to produce vegetables .
Achievements by Teachers :
Mrs. Madhuri Deshpande participated in Maharashtra State Teachers’ research projects / papers competition at Jalgaon.
